Proverbs 3:6 in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths
We had a call to ask if we could help move someone from one family member to another who was paralyzed from the waist down from TB
We get to the place and as near as I could get my car it still left about 20 mins walking. I was thinking how are we going to move this person in this hilly rocky country, the answer of course is a wheelbarrow
We stuffed the barrow full of seat cushions and laid the person down in it ,,,,you could see the pain on her face,,,,,,,we were down in the valley and so we had to go up,,,,,,its hard to imagine what people have to go through out here and do it with a brave face,,,,,,someone says they know how we can get the car nearer,,,,,we go and have to remove tree stumps (small ones )to get there and then I’m driving once again on a footpath that I know a car has never been on before,,,,,we put the lady in the back of my car and the rest of the trip goes without a hitch,,,,,,but something like this takes a whole day and the distances are so small,,,,,,,,,unbelievable
Acts 20:24 However I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

Muddy Puddles by John
Matt 28:19 ,,,,,,,, go you therefore,,,,,,
Sunday morning saw us making our way to a small bush church at Aranga ,,,,,it had been raining and so we had called ahead to check on the roads which we were told were fine (see photo),,,,,,,,the little rav4 continues to get us in and out of trouble but today we needed a tow,,,,,,,so we left our car at the side of the track and went so far on a motorbike and the rest we walked.
We arrived an hour late but the people were waiting patiently for us,,,,,,we were told that six people were wanting to be baptized so we had church first,,,,,,,
I continue to teach on the value of women which comes from God and not from their husbands or the number of children they have and how Jesus went out of His way to lift up and use women in His ministry .Then before baptism I spoke of dying to ourselves and giving our selves to Jesus and that it was a conscious decision and not just the act of being immersed in water before we made our way to the muddy puddle,,,,,singing all the way there and singing all the way back
PS,,,,,,church was under a shady tree,,,,,,provided by and maintained by God
LOST by John
Ez 34;16,,,,,I will search for the lost and bring back the strays
Sometime back Connie and I were going to a meeting in town,,,Connie was going with others and I was to catch up,,,,,,I was given directions on how to get there ,,,,,,so with these directions I know I am close so I call for someone to talk me in the last bit ,,,,,they tell me turn at the callbox and I am going up and down this road forever I call in again saying Im lost and you know how that word will stick in the throat of a man,,,,all they say is turn at the callbox and Im shouting WHERE IS THE CALLBOX???,,,then someone comes out to find me and bring me in how galling is that????
So I ask this person where is the callbox?,,,,,,oh the callbox fell down years ago they reply we just call this place callbox,,,,,then I think how this reflects my spiritual life relying upon me instead of God
Our first 6 weeks into the new year are full of peace and joy knowing that the changes in our ministry of focusing on spreading the Good News and providing bibles is exactly where Gods wants us
I might have mentioned before that there is a written statistic reporting that 76% of Kenya is Christian and yet when you ask people what is the difference between a Christian and a nonchristian by far the majority can not tell
We ask that you will continue to pray for us we as continue to pray for you,,,,,,,,,,,
We love you and miss you,,,,,,,,,,lots

NEW BIBLES
Feb 3 2010 this group of ladies returned with their studies completed and got a new Bible. There were about 20 Bibles given out on Wednesday. The ladies were very excited to get them.
When others saw this they too wanted the opportunity to get a Bible so about 28 others gave us 10 shillings and got the Bible study guide. We will be back to Manyatta on Feb 17 and see how many more will get new Bibles. We encouraged them to read them everyday and to bring them to our next teaching time. ( 10 shillings is about 15 cents in US dollars but it is a way for each of them to be invested in receiving their new Bible. )
For those of you who support us this is how your money is at work supplying Bibles for these ladies. We are paying about $5.35 for each Bible. This is the whole Bible in Swahili or English. Most of the ladies are Luo and we are not able to get the Luo Bible at a reasonable price from this supplier. Pray for that to become available so that those who only know their mother tongue can also get a Bible. The Luo are expensive to purchase for the number of Bibles needed.
Next week we should have several other groups with their new Bibles.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
