Please pray for a home for Steven. We have an appointment with possibilities on Wednesday. He is a gentle boy who needs love and attention and kindness. The evaluations say he operates on the level of a 2-3 year old. This means he needs constant care and supervision.
John with Steven at our compound after he was cleaned up.
He has had a haircut now and we hope to have a new picture soon.
Wow. That's all I can say, as I sit in my nice warm house, at my nice desk, using my nice laptop, as comfy as can be. Wow. God bless you, John & Connie. You are such selfless servants. I think I'd be back in the States by now. You are BRAVE SOLDIERS! We love you so much and pray for you. Read Joshua 1:6 - 9. Look at how many times the LORD told Joshua to be courageous. That could be because (according to Beth Moore) he had trouble with fear! You two are filled with courage. And God promises more. He promises to go before you and he repeats this promise in 2 Corinthians 2:14 - "But thanks be to God who always LEADS US in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him." You are spreading sweet fragrance of the knowledge of God. The triumphal procession reminds me that we are never alone in our ministry... there are others walking along side us on the path at the same time. And we walk in a TRIUMPHAL PROCESSION. That's exciting, huh?
ReplyDeleteI think John is graced with miraculous protection. I can't believe he survived the mob. I was told to always head the other way from a mob - specifically because we are Muzungus. Thank You, God, for protecting John and Connie. Bless Steven. Bless the robber, bless the man who was robbed. May the fragrance of the gospel fill Kisumu because of the triumphal procession Your servants, black and white.
But still, J&C, be wise.
