Acts 20:24 However I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me-the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

Yusta and Clement

This is Yusta we learned of her in December from a support group leader. She is 3 and her mother died a few months ago. Her father is not interested in taking care of her. She is HIV positive and needs good nutrition and anti viral drugs which the government will provide. We have taken her and her brother to an orphanage that is able to handle this situation and she is doing much better.

Yusta and Clement

This is a picture of Yusta about 3 weeks after taking her to the orphanage and you can see she
is gaining a bit of weight and behind her is Clement. He too is doing well. We hope someday
they will be placed back with family that will miss them and want them. They now are safe and well cared for in this place.

Steven going back to school after the holidays at Amani Orphanage. He is always glad to see us because he thinks it means a ride in the car. Steven is doing well. He still tears his clothes so John got permission for him not to have a uniform for awhile until they can get that stopped. He seems happy at the boarding school and they continue to try to find out more about his family and maybe someday he will be reunited with someone from his home. We will continue to support him as long as we need to do so.

Manyatta Support Group

Wednesday mornings at 10 we meet with these ladies under a tree and teach the word of God. This a diverse group of ladies that we started in a house and now we are outdoors so new faces join us each week. The children gather for a story while the ladies are spreading the word that we have arrived. This week we gave the ladies the opportunity to do a Bible Study and bring it back next week and we will present them with a new Bible. Twelve ladies paid 10 shillings for the booklet and are looking forward to their new Bible. We have committed to put the word of God in as many hands as the budget allows and teach them how to read and understand it. Pray for this area of our ministry. We have found a place here in Kisumu to purchase these Bibles in various languages for very reasonable prices. Many people say they are believers in Jesus and yet they do not have a Bible to learn how to live for Jesus.

Dunga Beach on Lake Victoria

The Ladies at Dunga Beach gathering for Bible teaching time before they begin their days work at cleaning and selling fish. The Lady in charge has given us permission to come early while they are waiting for the fishermen and we can teach. These ladies look for us each Friday morning and if for some reason we have to miss. They let us know they noticed we were not there.

Usually we get several opportunities to teach on Friday mornings here. John will go off and find men sitting around and I will go to the ladies. In the orange shirt is Helen a community health worker at the Ring Road VCT and she translates for me. She is very expressive and good at sharing the Word to the Ladies. She also knows the right way to ask for permission everywhere we go.
